Communicating Online

Online communication has developed from the time computers were invented not so long ago. You can communicate on IM, Facebook, Myspace, chatrooms and many other online "community's". First is IM. There are many pros and cons to this one thing alone. On IM you can talk to your friends online without having to call them, and you can do that on the computer while doing other things as well, like listening to music or going online to look up certain things. There are also many safety things on IM as well. There are ways that someones screen name can get around to people, and if an unknown person IMs you, there is something that you can block so that they cannot contact you or bug you. Second is Facebook and Myspace, which are in many ways the same. You can load pictures, talk to friends, comment on friends pictures and express yourself in many ways. This can be very fun, but you have to be careful. You should sent your profile to private so that only your friends can see your profile and your pictures, this is the safest way to be online. You should also not accept friends that you don't know, that can be very unsafe. There are also many chatrooms that you can go into, based on topics, including movies, books, your likes and dislikes, etc. When you go into these chatrooms, you should not give away any personal information because you can never be sure who is on the internet. If you are safe and are cautious on the internet, you should not have a problem.
