There are many good things about the internet, and many bad things. All forms of internet communication have endless possibilities, some good, some bad.

Email, being the most common form of communication is good because you can send someone a message instantly, and they can get it right away but do not have to respond right away. Messages will be stored forever and its easy to use. The majority of the people in the world have heard of email, and probably have an email address. Email is easy, fast, and does not cost much money. When you email you can send the same message to more than one person, and it remembers your addresses. Some cons of email are that security is not too great, and some people think it is impersonal. I think that email has more pros than cons.

Chatrooms are a little more dangerous than email. A user does not know who they are really talking to, and someone can say they are one person but really be lying. There is no form of security on chat rooms and a user does not have any privay, anything they say can be seen by anyone. However, it allows for a user to be able to talk to multiple people at once, and have a conversation with more than one person online. Chat rooms are completely anonymous, which can be good and bad.

Blogs are probably the most safe. They can be anonymous but you can also reveal who you are. Blogs are a good way to share information, or opinions with a lot of people and get other opinions and feedback. If a blogger is looking for feedback, a blog is the way to go. However, some blogs are boring. They are hard to maintain and not easy to keep up with because they are time consuming, and because they take up so much time, most blogs are rarely updated.

Instant messaging is good because it is instant communication. Its a good way to keep in touch with friends instead of using the phone. It helps children improve on their typing skills, and its free. It helps shy kids to make friends, and you can get an instant answer. Some cons of instant mesaging are that you never know who you are really talking to. Your friends may not always be online, and you may run out of things to talk about.
